PH8685 Calibration Procedure for Optimal Results

Calibration is one of the most important thing you need to do to ensure the accuracy of your pH meter. That's the reason why its very important for us to do the calibration properly. In my today's post I will show everyone what is the proper way of doing the calibration for one of the most reliable model of pH meter- PH868-5.

PH868-5 lets you measure the concentration of salt water & brine, pH and Temperature of your aquarium and a lot more. This Meter has a unique calibration design that features automatic buffer recognition to avoid error. Just to give you an idea a pH meter with "Automatic buffer recognition" has calibration data pre-stored for pH buffers. The meter will recognize what buffer you use and allow you to choose the order in which to use the different buffers when calibrating. Great isn't it?

So let's start doing the calibration process, just do the following step by step procedure.

1. Power on the meter.

2. Place the electrode into the buffer solution (4, 7 or 10). 7pH should be calibrated first and then 4pH or 10pH for better accuracy.

3. Press "CAL" to enter pH calibration mode. The text CA will appear on the LCD for one second and then the pH value (4, 7 or 10) will be displayed on the LCD.

4. If probe or buffer is in error the meter will escape calibration mode automatically after 10 seconds. Text "EN" will appear on the LCD in one second and then will go back to normal status. Simply press the hold button to adjust the value if buffer solution is not 4, 7, or 10 such as pH3.5, 4.50, etc.

5. To save the calibration value: When the electrode reads a stable value and the user stops pressing any keys, the meter will automatically save the value and then escape the calibration mode.

Please do not forget to rinse the probe with De-ionized water or rinse solution (tap water) after each measurement to last the meter's life.  Just repeat the above steps until 3 points calibration is finished.

I hope this post have helped you to do the calibration process.
