Understanding your GX-CT01

Are you having problem with your GX-CT01? Does your unit displays inaccurate readings or does it  show 0.00 every time you make measurements? Here are some tips on how to resolve your problem without any hassle on contacting your seller.

If your unit is giving inaccurate readings and every time you measure the unit is giving different measurement at the same spot. Well you must remember that error has factors to consider, 2 of the major factors are machine error and human error. Let's discuss further in this blog what does it mean.

The unit is giving different readings because, in every press you make, you're exerting different pressure on the item, does caused to give different reading, you also need to consider the accuracy range of the unit 2%RDG±0.02mm, if it is within the accuracy range then your item is working just fine. If the unit is giving way more different reading than the correct measurement, I think your unit needs a zero calibration. Just follow the calibration process I indicated below, you must remember to clean the sensor of the item first with soft cloth to ensure the accuracy of the item. Also, make sure that the unit of measurement corresponds to the material you're going to test ("NFe" for non-iron and "Fe" for iron base). First test the unit to the iron and non iron base included in the set.

Zero Calibration Process:

1. Change the battery of the item with brand new. The low voltage battery can cause inaccuracy to measurement. And turn on the unit.

2. Press to the corresponding base you're going to calibrate with.

3. Long press the zero calibration button, then release the button when the screen displays CAL. Don't leave the base not until the unit displays 0.00.

4. Once 0.00 displays, it means the unit is successfully calibrated. After calibrating the unit to both bases, you may try to test the unit.

Your unit is always displaying and giving a measurement of 0.00 to each and every measurement you make? Don't think that the item is defective, perhaps, it is only because the value of the material you're measuring has a lower value than of the base included in the set. If the unit keeps displaying 0.00, you may try to calibrate the meter on a different material which doesn't have coating.

For example, the value of the car you will test is 4 microns. Then you may calibrate the meter with a non coating material with a value of 4 microns. After calibration please test the unit.

*When the WS-001 weather station is receiving RCC signal pressing of button especially the back light will not work. You can only press the buttons after the main unit finished receiving RCC signal.

* You have to wait for at least 15-30 minutes for the main unit to completely receive the RCC signal.

* This unit usually receives signal during midnight and morning.

* The sensor is use for outdoor temperature and the main unit is for the indoor temperature measurement only.

* It is normal for your barometric pressure to not change value for an hour.

* The moon phase of WS-001 with new moon and full moon is reversed. Most of the buyers of this item thinks that their weather station is defective because of the reverse moon phase. Well it is not defective; this is the normal and real function of the item.

1. Having problem with the sensor not transmitting data to the main unit or the main unit is not receiving any data from the sensor?

    1.1. First, you have to replace the battery of the main unit and sensor with brand new. Double check the red LED at the sensor if it is lighting up.

    1.2. Place the faulty sensor and the main unit beside each other for overnight and set the both unit (main unit and sensor) in the same channel (1-1, 2-2, 3-3 channels) try to set both unit to all channel then observe if the problem will still persist.

    1.3. If the problem has been resolved after placing them close to each other, it means there are some inferences where you placed the sensor and the main unit.

    1.4. If the problem wasn't resolved by following my recommendations above. I recommend that you to contact the seller of the item for resolution.

2. Having problem with the synchronization of your standard time/ receiving RCC signal?

    2.1. Unplug and re-plug your power supply and wait for at least 10 minutes to receive the RCC signal.

    2.2. You need to check if you input the correct time zone at your place.

    2.2. If the problem still persist, then you may contact your seller to ask for better resolution.

3. Are there some segments missing in the display of your main unit or sensor?

    3.1. Try to replace the battery first with brand new. If the problem still persist after replacing the battery. It is better to contact your seller for a better resolution.

4. The back light of your main unit is not turning on even after receiving RCC signal?

    4.1. Try to use the adapter as power supply of your unit and check if back light will work. When using the adapter as power supply the back light will turn on all the time.

    4.2. If the problem still persist, try to plug the unit to a different socket, maybe there's just a problem with the present socket you're using.

3.Soil Temperature
Soil Temperature is the measurement of the warmth of the soil. Determining the soil temperature is beneficial in order for you to know the right timing of sowing seeds, transplanting and composting. Every type of crops has a preferred soil temperature, planting early without waiting for the soil to get warm might lead to seed rot or plants will grow poorly. If you are planning to grow a certain type of plant, research thoroughly on what range of temperature would they likely to thrive. 4. Light Intensity

What is Ozone?

Ozone (O3) is a highly reactive odorless gas made of oxygen. I think a lot of people will be interested to know that ozone occurs quite readily in nature, a result of lightning that occurs during thunderstorms.

How does ozone do wonders on the environment?

Ozone is biocidal, meaning it can disinfect harmful contaminants present in the environment and rendering them harmless while also removing odor. Let me explain further. Remember Ozone is composed of 3 atoms, when one of those atoms spots a contaminant such as odor, viruses and bacteria, the said atom breaks away from the other 2 atoms and attaches itself to the contaminant.  The explosion between the two changes the contaminant into carbon dioxide and hydrogen, which we can breathe. The other two atoms left behind became a pure oxygen (O2) without the presence of the contaminant. This process is called oxidation, you may check the image below to get the picture of it.

How is ozone made? 

There are 2 ways to produce ozone: ultraviolet rays (UV) and corona discharge (CD). With UV ozone generation, the light that passed over a UV lamp splits oxygen molecules making it reattach into ozone (O3).

While Corona Discharge ozone generation is accomplished by passing air through an electrical field. Ozone is produced by the used of electric current that splits oxygen molecules then creates ozone.

What sets the two method apart? UV generators cannot produce high concentration of ozone so air needs to be exposed on UV lamps for a longer period of time making it more time consuming. And here's corona discharge generator  that  can produce 90% higher concentrations of ozone. We have tackled the reasons why we are experiencing problem in our Heart Rate Monitor now we should discuss what are the steps we can do to fix the problem.

1. Move away from the source of interference.
-As much as possible perform your exercise or fitness regime on a place with no interference. Take the living room for example there is a bunch of appliances can be found that can cause interference so better do your exercise outside.

2. Replace the battery for both the chest belt and watch
-When the readings are getting erratic or you are noticing that the connection between the watch and chest strap is ceasing for a couple of times then it's time to replace the battery either of the watch or chest strap.

 3. Wet the grooved sensors of the chest belt 
-On your first use you may use water to wet the conductive pad of the chest belt, eventually when you are doing your exercise and you are already sweating a lot, sweat can used to moisten the belt. One thing to bear in mind you should wet the conductive pad of the chest belt or the grooved sensor. You may take a look on the image below for you to have an idea which is the conductive part.

4. Wear the chest strap correctly
- Where should you position the chest belt? Chest belt should sit snugly below the pectoral muscles and in direct contact with your skin. Avoid wearing the chest belt on the part with dense hair to avoid interruption on the transmission of data.

5. Clean the transmitter 
-Sweat can build up on the chest strap thus preventing the chest strap to report the correct data to the watch. We strongly recommend cleaning the chest strap by rinsing it with fresh water to avoid sweat build up.  Do not use abrasive or corrosive materials to clean the chest strap; abrasive cleaning agent may scratch the plastic parts and corrode the electronic circuit.

6. Using a Heart Rate Gel
-There are so called Heart Rate Gel that can be used to get better conductivity. It is designed to improve the connection between your heart rate monitor's chest strap and your skin. This is a very good option especially if you find sweat and saliva gross to put on the groove sensor of the chest strap.
